Who we are

Lidteq is an electronics repair workshop and refurbished technology store at Unit D38, Co.Space Entrepreneur Village, 11 Havelock Rd, Willow Park Manor, Pretoria, 0184, South Africa. For anything in this policy you can reach us at info@lidteq.co.za or on 072 402 8224.

What we collect

• Repair requests: your name, phone number, optional email, the device type and model, the symptoms you select and any description you write.
• Orders: your name, phone number, optional email, delivery address if you choose delivery, the items ordered and any notes you add.
• Reviews: the name you choose to publish, the device, rating and your review text.
• Technical data: standard analytics such as pages visited, approximate location by city and the device or browser used.

We never ask for and never store card numbers or banking passwords. Payment is by EFT to our bank account or in person on collection or delivery.

Why we use it

To diagnose and quote your repair, to contact you about it, to prepare and deliver your order, to answer your questions, to keep our stock and job records straight, and to improve the site. We do not sell your details and we do not use them for unrelated advertising.

Who can see it

Our own technicians and workshop staff see what they need to do the job. Our hosting, database and email delivery providers process the data on our behalf under their own security commitments. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages help people. That service sets cookies in your browser and reports aggregated figures to us. Your basket is stored in your own browser so it survives a page refresh — it is not a tracking cookie and it is cleared when you empty the basket. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the store and repair form still work.

How long we keep it

Repair requests and orders are kept for as long as needed to service the job and honour the warranty, and afterwards for our accounting records. You can ask us to delete your details once there is no open job, warranty or legal obligation attached to them.

Your rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and object to processing you did not agree to. Email info@lidteq.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with our answer you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Keeping it safe

Access to customer records is limited to staff who need it, records sit in access-controlled systems, and the site is served over HTTPS. No system is perfect, so tell us immediately if you suspect someone has used your details.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes that affect an open repair or order will be communicated directly.
